Titan, A Space Odyssey

Sometimes the world can seem like a very dark and awful place. Sometimes you just need to get away from it all and let yourself be free to enjoy the wilderness of your imagination. Titan's new album Sweet Dreams provides just that opportunity, in just the right way.

With pounding riffs, soothing synthesizers, and an broad range of emotionally engaging and almost orchestral soundscapes, listening to Titan is similar to drifting through space, cold and alone. The sights you will see are both beatiful and hideous as birth and destruction surround you. That is the imagery held within Titan's offerings to the musical community. If you've ever wondered what the soundtrack to the big bang was, this is it.

Titan doesn't fit the typical image that the term metal brings to mind for many. This new album can be enjoyed by anyone with an appreciation for musicianship and creativity. While many think of metal as a genre meant to encourage heavy drinking and violent outbursts, Titan proves that it also promotes relaxation and a chance to let the mind wander. If you have half a brain in your head you'll pick this album up, crank up the volume and prepare for an experience similar to hearing your first Rush album or even your first Pink Floyd album.

Check some tracks off this new release on Mount Metal every Friday from 4-6pm or during the Witching Hour block right here on KJACK.
