News: "Nothing but the Beat" Preview

With the recent rise of interest in house music, one name stands out amongst the rest: David Guetta. The French DJ has been spinning at clubs since the mid ‘90s and topping the charts since the release of his 2009 album, One Love. Hits from the cd included “When Love Takes Over,” featuring Kelly Rowland and “Sexy Bitch,” featuring Akon.
NAU will be showcasing the artist on Thursday, November 17th with a screening of his documentary, Nothing but the Beat. It will be held in the Liberal Arts building, room 136. Any student can attend, and is encouraged to, especially if they love free stuff! Attendants have the chance to win authentic David Guetta merchandise including a copy of his newest cd, some vinyl and even Starbucks gift cards.
Nothing but the Beat, directed by Huse Monfaradi, includes interviews with Snoop Dogg, Fatboy Slim and Afrojack. It focuses on Guetta’s journey from an underground DJ to one of this generation’s most famous producers.
So stop by, bring your friends and prepare yourself for a night of house music history and interviews with some of today’s most famous musicians, and maybe even some prizes.
