NAU Women's Basketball loses to Idaho State

The NAU Women's Basketball team fell to 5-19 overall and 3-9 in Big Sky Conference play with a 71-64 loss to the Idaho State Bengals. In the annual "Pink Zone" game for breast cancer awareness, Caty Huntington, 20 points, and Amy Patton, seventeen points, combined for 37 points but as a team shot 5-15 from the free throw line.

NAU trailed by fourteen in the first half but pulled to within four, 32-28, at the half. NAU used a 19-3 run over the final five minutes of the first half to go into the half with momentum.

Despite the momentum, NAU was done in with early foul trouble, ten first half turnovers, and only shooting 5-15 (33%) from the free throw line. Idaho State out-rebounded NAU 43-31 with thirteen offensive rebounds for ISU compared to nine for NAU. The Lumberjacks out-shout ISU from the field 46 to 41percent.

Huntington shot 6-11 from the field and 5-8 from the three point line. Tiffany Amos added ten points for NAU. Idaho State had three players in double figures and shot 58.8% from the three point line.
