Halloween weekend: the time when teenagers can dress up, go out and scare each other to death. This weekend will be no exception; as NAU will be having its very own type of Zombie-fest.
Friday at noon there will be a zombie walk to promote the weekend’s main event: the Fall of KJACK Zombie Night. To participate in the zombie walk, simply meet in front of the Communications building at noon. Don’t have the make up to look like the living dead? No worries, there will be make-up artists there.
For the small price of five dollars, any student can go to the DuBois Ballroom and enjoy pizza, games, movies and live music. It’s starts at seven and there will be a costume contest, so bring your scariest make up and your fiercest tattered clothes!
Ashley Wil/Ellis Williams, co-host of KJACK’s own Double Tap: The Zombie Hour, says the event will be fun and good for NAU.
“We're giving away loads of prizes, including gift cards and a copy of L4D2 [Left for Dead 2]. Besides, it's going to be terribly fun even without the prizes…KJACK benefits because we get listeners, especially for Double Tap: The Zombie Hour. Mainly, KJACK is interested in getting its name really out there in a way that is fun and exciting for everyone.”
So remember: this Saturday night, from 7 pm to midnight, join KJACK for a night of ghoulish fun and mind blowing live music. And don’t forget the necessary horror movie fest.
And lastly, if you’re afraid of the “zombocalypse,” rest easy because our very own zombie expert Ashley Williams has some advice for you:
“My number one rule for zombie survival is to make sure you're not just getting through the zombocalypse physically. You have to be mentally stable to live, too. Pick up a hobby--just make sure it's something quiet.”
