The French DJ has been spinning at clubs since the mid ‘90s and topping the charts since the release of his 2009 album, One Love. Honors Requirements

Incoming NAU Honor students will now be expected to follow the new program requirements that went into effect this semester.

The new requirements will only affect incoming Honors students from this the Fall 2011 semester and on; Honors students enrolled before then will continue with the old catalog.

The Fall of KJACK

Halloween weekend: the time when teenagers can dress up, go out and scare each other to death. This weekend will be no exception; as NAU will be having its very own type of Zombie-fest.
Friday at noon there will be a zombie walk to promote the weekend’s main event: the Fall of KJACK Zombie Night. To participate in the zombie walk, simply meet in front of the Communications building at noon. Don’t have the make up to look like the living dead? No worries, there will be make-up artists there.

News: Flagstaff Local Business

As national chains continue to arrive in Flagstaff, the competition local restaurants face could prove to be a helping hand.

The competition brought about by the recent trend of chains arriving is not necessarily something that should worry local Flagstaff businesses. Joe Galli, the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce's Vice President of Government Affairs, said that competition with national chains can be a beneficial factor for local restaurants because it gives them the opportunity to rise to the occasion.

News: NAU's Native American Cultural Center

On Oct. 14 at 3:30 p.m., NAU will hold the grand opening of the new Native American Cultural Center. For one year students have walked by the construction waiting to see what lies inside the uniquely shaped building. This Friday, they can see the final product that President John Haeger says will give the campus “great distinction.”

News: Occupy Wall Street Reaches Flagstaff

Cars honking their horns on Milton are nothing new in downtown Flagstaff. The normally congested street was graced with a new reason to honk, Occupy Flagstaff.

The event was in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street. What is Occupy Wall Street many have asked? It is a protest that started last month in New York City. Protesters are angry at who they are calling the 1%, who they say have "corrupted" our democracy.

News: NAU International Film Series

At 7 PM on a Wednesday night, students and community members gather in the Liberal Arts building to watch Z, a French-language film made in 1967. Over the next two hours, the audience travels around the globe to the heart of a political uprising in Greece. Not a word of English is spoken, but the audience follows along thanks to subtitles.

Flagstaff's Sinclair gas station closes down, takes iconic dinosaur with it

Flagstaff's Varsity Gasser and and its Sinclair Oil dinosaur logo have something in common: they're both extinct.
Varsity Gasser at the corner of Milton and Riordan, best known for sporting Sinclair Oil's name and trademark green brontosaurus (named Dino), closed down Thursday of last week.

After decades of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the United Nations (UN) is finally beginning to pay attention. The past few weeks has been filled with various banter and warning from different nations arguing the validity of a Palestinian State. Palestine has been appealing for statehood to the UN since 1967, trying to earn full membership as opposed to its current observer status that renders their vote merely symbolic in many cases.
